1. How did you find Bonnie?
A.
I currently live in a small apartment, and I was looking to get a dog. I have had English and Gordon Setters my whole life, but dogs that big obviously would not do well in such a tiny space, so I decided to get a small dog. One of my mom’s friends heard I was searching for a dog and told her friend, who is a small breeder of miniature longhaired Dachshunds in North Carolina. She sent me pictures of Bonnie and told me all about her personality. I knew Bonnie was the perfect dog for me and I got her a few weeks later.

2. I always see photos of Bonnie in perfect poses with her big blue eyes. How do you get her to pose that way?
A.
Bonnie is just a natural model and loves the attention she gets when I take pictures of her. She quickly learned a few basic obedience commands like sit, down, and stay which helps and I also use food to get her to pose. She is a very food motivated dog and is willing to do anything as long as she knows she will get a treat in the end. I also think her blue eyes help her pictures really stand out.

3. What are Bonnie’s top three favorite things to do?
A.
Bonnie loves to do a lot of things. She loves playing with her toys and will want me to toss her toys for hours. Bonnie is also just a real cuddle bug; she loves to just lay on my lap while I am watching TV or working on my laptop. She also really likes people and loves going on walks so she can say hello to everyone we pass by on our little adventure. When we go to the dog park, she even has to wander the whole perimeter of the play area so she can greet everyone.

4. Is Bonnie your first Doxie? Why Dachshunds?
A.
Yes, Bonnie is the first Dachshund I have ever owned. It was my mom who told me that I should get a Dachshund. She has always loved miniature longhaired Dachshunds and wanted to one day get one as a pet. I was originally looking for a Corgi or a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but my mom convinced me to look for a Dachshund, and I am glad she did. I absolutely love the personality of these little dogs, and I know I will have Dachshunds for the rest of my life.

5. If Bonnie could talk what do you think she would say to you?
A.
I think the first thing she would do is ask for food since she is such a foodie. But I hope she would say that she is very happy with her life with me and know that she is spoiled to pieces. I also hope she knows how much she has changed my life and how thankful and lucky I am to have her as my dog.
